STEP is honored to announce that STEP President/CEO Brent Mikulski has been appointed by Governor Whitmer to serve on the Michigan Council for Rehabilitation Services. Brent Mikulski will be an amazing advocate!
In response, Mikulski states, “I am honored to be recently appointed by Governor Whitmer to serve on the Michigan Council for Rehabilitation Services. The opportunity will permit me to represent the dedicated Community Rehabilitation Program Service Providers from around our great state. Looking forward to meeting my fellow MCRS council members and getting started.”
See below for an excerpt from Incompass Michigan explaining the appointment process: “Housed within the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity, the 17-member Council reviews, analyzes, and advises Michigan’s rehabilitation programs and services, and advises the department director and governor. This is in partnership with Michigan Rehabilitation Services (MRS) and the Bureau of Services for Blind Persons. Sixteen of the 17 members are appointed by the Governor and one appointment is made by the Superintendent of Public Instruction. The State Directors of MRS and BSBP serve as ex-officio, nonvoting members. Brent Mikulski will represent community rehabilitation program service providers; his term expires 12/31/23. He joins CEO Todd Culver in service on the Council; Carol Bergquist of Project Visions – Hannahville Indian Community serves as Chair.”
